Sewing vs. Embroidery

Sewing and embroidery are both needlework techniques, but they are used for different purposes and produce different results.

Sewing is the process of joining two or more pieces of fabric together with a needle and thread. Sewing can be done by hand or by machine and is typically used to create clothing, home decor items, and other functional objects. The stitches used in sewing are usually simple and straightforward, such as a straight stitch or a zigzag stitch.

Embroidery, on the other hand, is a decorative stitching technique that is used to embellish fabric with designs, patterns, or images. Embroidery can be done by hand or by machine and often involves more complex stitching techniques, such as satin stitch, cross-stitch, or French knots. Embroidery is often used to add decorative touches to clothing, bags, and other items, and it can also be used to create art pieces.

All of these are a great way to create personalized gifts and make a meaningful side income.
